We are all
called to some form of minisitry. Below are some examples
of how we have responded to that call locally.
Backpacks and Bibles
This program brings financially
underpriveledged and academically at-risk middle school students
to Northminster for three evenings of motivation and tranining and
to offer them exposure to the love and caring of a Christian community.
Backpacks are given to each student and are filled with school supplies
and a Bible.

Ronald McDonald House
Provides a home away
from home for seriously ill children and their families and helps
to fund programs in the state of Maryland that directly improve
the well-being of children. They are an extension of care for five
world-renowned Baltimore hospitals: University of Maryland Hospital
Shock Trauma, Johns Hopkins Hospital, The Rubin Institute at Sinai
Hospital, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, and Kennedy Krieger
Institute.
Sykes Toy Project
Volunteers receive, sort, clean, refurbish and pack toys, books,
puzzles, stuffed animals, dolls and games donated by the community.
In December, these are displayed for "shoppers" from a variety of
churches and civic organizations who gather gifts for the children
of needy families. Other beneficiaries include the Bea Gaddy organization
in Baltimore, Ronald McDonald House, Cherrywood Rehabilitation and
Nursing Home, the Pediatric Ward and the University of Maryland
Hospital, children of incarcerated parents and children housed by
the Methodist Board of Child Care.
Community Crisis Center
We are committed partners to this wonderful organization that is
next door to us. The Community Crisis Center, Inc. (CCC) is
a nonprofit 501(3)c human service organization dedicated to the
prevention of homelessness for residents of Reisterstown, Owings
Mills and Glyndon through the provision of emergency food items,
personal hygiene products, school supplies, career clothing, financial
literacy, and monthly grants for eviction-prevention and utility
assistance.
